TSMC Expands European Footprint with Munich Chip Design Center
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is accelerating its global expansion with a new chip design center in Munich, Germany, set to open in Q3 2025. The facility will specialize in automotive, industrial, AI, and IoT applications—key growth sectors for European clients.
This follows TSMC’s Dresden manufacturing plant, a joint venture with Infineon, NXP, and Robert Bosch. The MOVE aligns with the company’s $100 billion global investment strategy, including U.S. facilities and Japanese operations.
AI-driven demand remains a cornerstone of TSMC’s growth, with projected 45% annual revenue increases in AI chips over the next five years. Overall revenue is expected to climb nearly 20% annually during this period.
